Shot list

Hi everyone! It has been awhile since I wrote about my progress towards the final animation. The animation is done but I wanted to share with you my shot list

I did it in excel. As you can see I put in the number of shots, locations, the characters in that scene, the type of camera angle. This really helped to organize my thoughts. Some of these entries I added a description of the scenes. If you do this on your own you could add what type of effects you want or even dialogue. I would recommend that at least the shot number and camera angle be placed in the shot list especially if your animation has only one locations. Your shot list can be made in any word processing program(but I would not recommend notepad) It can also be made on paper and scanned.

If for some reason you can't get microsoft office with a student ID, Libreoffice is a wonderful shareware software for word processing that mimics office and thus you can use tables to organize your list(and its free).

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM. MORNING
Cassidy, a fourteen year old Irish female, is walking in to the hospital room to check out her new baby brother. She sees her mom lying on the bed holding the new member of the family.This is little Aaiden. He has a little truffle of blond hair. On her bedside table there is a small picture of Cassidy, her mom, and dad with a card announcing Cassidy's mother having a baby boy
 The walls are purple and the floor is white. A baby is in a little basket on the floor.
Zoom in closer to Aaiden
Cassidy picks up Aaiden carefully. He looked like a little burrito swaddled in a blue blanket with his name embedded. Cassidy giggles at the baby noises he was making.
 Suddenly On his forehead a little horn appeared within the small puff of hair . A small glowing light is emitting from his horn. He giggles while emitting flowers that circle around. Cassidy stares confusedly at the baby. Is she seeing things due to studying too hard for the end of the Semester exam? She sees her mom coming back and yells for her. She is both in awe and terrified of her new born brother.

Witch in wheelchair tries to get up stairs at school

Minakoa is like no other 10 year old. She is a witch just starting her mediwitch ludus(Middle school) in a isolated island boarding school. She is a bookworm and a has a hardworking attitude. She has been practicing magic since she was five without any hiccups. This year though is different. Her biggest enemy is no other than a flight of stairs leading up to her favorite class-Witch craft history 101. She is in a wheelchair and the school is so ancient that it dosen’t have a regular elevator. That and they don’t want to bother with normal technology. Follow her struggle to fit in and be able to get to her classes.

A human child finds out she is half unicorn

A teenage’s girl’s parents give birth in the hospital. She notice something odd about the small baby in her mother’s arms.The baby is sparkleing with gold and silver. On its forehead is what looks like a horn.

“It must be just a funky sprout of hair.” The teenager 

A dog finds out that his/her brother was turned into a werewolf creature

Welcome to my blog

     I have a feeling this semester is going to be a adventure. I have a small background in storytelling thanks to my high school creative writing class. I love to write and I love to watch animation. My favorites are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sailor Moon. I never wrote for a animation film before, I mean one that lasts beyond ten minutes. I'm both Nervous and Excited at the same time. This blog will canonical my planning and execution of the small animation movie. I have a few ideas up my sleeves. You will have to wait to see what they are.
     For now let me tell you about myself. My name is Mikaela. I am a senior here at the University of Tampa. Go Spartans! I am in my last year actually at the time of this post. It is my second semester of animation in both 2d and 3d. I am in the digital arts major. When I graduate I hope to be able to do freelance.
